Two Communication Agencies Joined Forces with Six Local Health Departments to Produce Award-Winning Campaign

Get Vaccinated Award

NORWALK, CONN. – May 7, 2025 – The multilingual Get Vaccinated CT campaign has been honored with a Gold Award of Excellence in the 31st Annual Communicator Awards. This prestigious recognition highlights the campaign's exceptional effectiveness, innovation, and excellence in public health communication and also highlights the extraordinary power of collaborative partnerships.

The campaign was developed in collaboration with six lower Fairfield County health departments including: Aspetuck Health District, Darien Health Department, Fairfield Health Department, Norwalk Health Department, Stratford Health Department, and Trumbull Health Department. The goal was to encourage residents to stay up-to-date with their vaccines to protect the health of their communities. Materials were developed in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole and promotions resulted in more than 17 million impressions across the six towns.

The award-winning initiative is the result of a powerful partnership between Daydream Communications and Camelo Communication

“This collaborative approach demonstrates how strategic partnerships can create impactful campaigns that resonate across cultures,” said Katie Gallo, Founder and CEO of Daydream Communications. “By uniting our talents, we achieve greater impact for every client we work with."

The campaign successfully reached multicultural communities throughout Connecticut, breaking down language barriers to deliver critical vaccination information.

“We are proud to be honored for this highly-successful campaign and to be part of an important initiative that aimed to help improve the health of all the diverse communities in lower Fairfield County,” said Wilson Camelo, President and Chief Marketing Officer at Camelo Communication. “When agencies are willing to collaborate and to complement each other’s strengths, great results will happen.”

Daydream Communications also earned a Silver Communicator Award for the production of "Ronald's Story," a short video featuring the mother of a Connecticut man who died from an overdose. The goal was to highlight local support resources while combating the stigma surrounding addiction and treatment. The video was created in partnership with Kyle Norton Photography for the Stratford Partnership for Youth and Families.
