Whether it's a product, a service or a nonprofit, everything starts as an idea. I have been a daydreamer with an entrepreneurial spirit since I was a little kid. I was always making products to sell to my family and dreamed of running my own business someday. As I sat in high school classes, my mind wandered to the future and I started thinking about all of the possibilities. I wanted to find a career that allowed me to be creative and write. After taking a variety of classes, I found myself in marketing.
As a teenager all I wanted to do was to leave my small town and get to the big city -- New York City. After receiving my undergraduate degree, that’s just what I did. During the day I worked for a boutique public relations firm in Manhattan where I managed accounts for architecture and design clients. At night I attended classes at The New School to earn my master’s degree in nonprofit management.
After spending time in the agency world, I transitioned to nonprofits. I began doing public relations and social media management for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. From there I moved into a senior marketing management position for a Continuum Health Partners (now Mt. Sinai); the hospital system encompassed Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals. I was responsible for marketing neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry, addiction services and senior health. I also co-chaired the corporate social media committee and produced community newsletters.
In 2013, I left Manhattan and became a digital marketing specialist at Silver Hill Hospital, a renowned psychiatric and addiction treatment facility in Connecticut. After having my first child in 2016, I finally turned my daydream of running a business into a reality and created Daydream Communications. I am passionate about what I do and the clients I serve.
Successful marketing campaigns start with an idea; maybe one that popped into your head while daydreaming! Let me help you bring your idea to life.
